Karthik Raja

Karthik Raja (Tamil: கார்த்திக் ராஜா) is an Indian film music composer from the Chennai film industry in Tamil Nadu, South India. He is the eldest son of the famous composer Ilayaraaja. He made his debut as music composer in the Tamil movie, Alexander. He has worked with renowned Indian filmakers and producers including Amitabh Bachchan, Mani Ratnam, Jackie Shroff, Ajay Devgan amongst others. He graduated from the Prestigious St. Bede's School in Chennai. Personal life Karthik Raja was born as the eldest child to legendary musician Ilaiyaraaja and Jeeva. He has two siblings, Bhavatharini and Yuvan Shankar Raja, younger sister and brother, respectively, who are both film composers and playback singers as well, with who Karthik Raja has often colloborated. On June 8, 2000, Karthik Raja married Raja Rajeswari at Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. The three films that shot him to lime light were 1998 Kadhala Kadhala Tamil 1998 Naam Iruvar Nammaku Iruvar Tamil 1997 Ullasam Tamil All three super hits. But he quickly faded with a string of flops but gave a super hit in 2001 in Dum Dum Dum. That was pretty much his last big hit.
