Katrina Parker is a reformed Southern Baptist and small town escapee, a former North Carolina to Nashville girl now scraping her way through the Los Angeles music scene, striving to find beauty in the farthest corners and most hidden places...Katrina's debut EP "Only Dreaming" (released in late '05) is dreamy and intimate alternative pop - sometimes unabashedly romantic, sometimes bittersweet, and sometimes nostalgic...She's currently working on a new CD for 2007 - a little Billie Holiday on acid, a little Portishead at a Sunday brunch, a little "gothic romanticism with a cabaret twist," exploring darker waters thematically but continuing to indulge her idealistic tendencies, the same common thread of hope that runs throughout all her work. Katrina performs regularly at several venues in the L.A. and Southern California area - sometimes acoustic, often with additional programming. Heather Lloyd, whose art is featured at many of the shows has said this - "Katrina's live show is like visiting a flickering speakeasy, lined with gin and red velvet."
