If the company a singer keeps is any indicator of talent, then Kelleigh is on her way to an explosive career. Surrounded by musicians with national touring histories, produced by an award winning songwriter, and mixed by a Grammy winning engineer, Kelleigh’s first album reveals a musician much wiser than her experience and age would predict. Her first album Radio Skies was the brainchild of Kelleigh and songwriter/producer Jabe Beyer, who believe that the authentic Country listener is not looking for the lowest common denominator, but instead craves intelligently honest songs about love, joy, and loss. Raised in Nashville, TN and surrounded by Music City’s country scene, Kelleigh thought twice about a career in the music industry. But her intensely soulful voice & sincere songs caught the ear of local club owners who began booking her for songwriter nights. When it became clear that her voice and lyrics were turning heads, & silencing rooms, Kelleigh decided it was time to make an album. The result is Radio Skies: Eleven songs, all written or co-written by Kelleigh, which delivers the very clear message that Kelleigh Bannen is a true artist, talented beyond her years. The album, engineered by Nashville veteran Pat McMakin (Ray Charles, George Jones, Dolly Parton) & mixed by Grammy winner Trina Shoemaker (Sheryl Crow, Dixie Chicks, Whiskeytown) features Frank Swart (Patty Griffin) on bass, Bryan Owings (Buddy Miller, Shelby Lynne) on drums, Kevin Barry (Mary Chapin Carpenter), Stu Kimball (Bob Dylan) and Jabe Beyer on guitar. Already getting airplay on Nashville independent radio prior to the album’s release, Nashville, Tennessee’s radio skies may soon be filled with Kelleigh Bannen’s Radio Skies.
