Matt & Chau first met in 2006 at an underground UFOlogists Anonymous Club meeting in LA. Their fascination with ancient aliens, the space-time fabric, and other paranormal concepts soon blossomed into a passion for cosmic sounds as they scoured for obscure and vintage instruments. After casually collaborating with their ideas up in the mystic, energy-charged Laurel Canyon, by 2008 this had spawned a really cool duo with excessive instrumentation and an over-the-top live show for just 2 people. That pure enjoyment of recreating their songs on stage is what magnetized their fans and led to a publishing deal in Scandinavia and a national commercial sync (a cover of Puttin’ On The Ritz for Lindex). By then, Chau also had writing credits with Cyndi Lauper and backing vocals with Jordin Sparks, and Matt had writing placements on Showtime (Web Therapy). A very sync-friendly sound, more of Killabite will be heard this Fall in a feature film (Love & Other Impossible Pursuits) and on MTV’s The Buried Life. There is an undeniable attraction to Swedish pop melody and synchronicitously they’ve recorded tracks with Axwell (Swedish House Mafia), co-written with Alexander (Purple) Kronlund (Robyn, Britney), and have a track produced with Max Martin (Katy Perry, Ke$ha), some of the most brilliant Swedish musicians ever! Digital sounds, innocent vocals, electronic beats, fog and lasers, glitter and talkbox, with lyrics integrating findings in their alternative news research make for an ‘indie-pop dream’. The result is a super fresh, passion-infused "experience". Like John & Yoko, Sonny & Cher, Simon & Garfunkel, and the Eurythmics, Killabite is a duo that everyone should know! They love too many bands to name but some of their faves are: The Knife, The Gorillaz, Beck, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Killers, Teddybears, Phoenix, and Blondie. Now you can find this Hollywood-based duo of 80s-loving gear-geeks putting on shows and producing feel-good music to channel some of the boundless energy of the universe into cosmic artistry. May artistic endeavors fueled by passion and love raise the vibration of humanity! Read more on Last.fm.
