Philip Kressin (Born in Frankfurt a.M., Germany) is a classically trained composer and multi-instrumentalist. He performs as a solo artist under the name Kirt and is founder and lead singer of the band Neon Legion. Kirt combines elements of rock, indie pop, electronic music and orchestral music - a unification of tradition and the future. While being a solo artist, he collaborates with various other artists. More on www.kirt.de www.myspace.com/kirtmusic New York,USA and Buenos Aires, Argentina based electro indie artist Kirt debuts with his eclectic album "Cyan". The album was recorded and mixed at Black Solaris Studios owned by Uwe Lulis (Grave Digger, Rebellion) in a second world war bunker in Frankfurt, Germany. The name of the studio is derived from the intense isolation one experiences in the interior of the bunker and this is reflected in the vast wall paintings of the universe in the interior. In this environment Cyan was recorded and mixed. When the recordings were completed, Kirt took "Cyan" to Buenos Aires, Argentina to complete the production of the album. The artwork and photography were also produced in Argentina as well as 2 music videos and various tour documentaries. As "Cyan" was a studio album and entirely recorded by himself, Kirt had no band to play with live. Through a friend in Buenos Aires, who would soon become Kirt´s publicist, Kirt met various talented musicians and started playing and touring throughout the country. His tours brought him all the way down to Ushuaia (The most southern city in the World, also known as: "The End of the World"), where the music video to "End" was shot. "Cyan" was self-released exclusively in Argentina in March 2008 and received rave reviews and considerable radio play in the Argentinian media. During his stay in Argentina Kirt founded the cultural collective Multicorriente (Multicurrent) together with various culture aficionados, musicians, painters, directors and photographers. This effort resulted in a cultural magazine, a label and a host to various events under the same name. Kirt is known for his eclectic and experimental style of composition, much due to his extensive classical training in The Frensham Heights School in Surrey, UK and London´s Brunel University. As a self taught audio engineer and producer, Kirt has taken on various musical projects such as the award winning short film "Geigensolo" and the production of german hip hop and electronic artists. Kirt is currently working on a new album, parts of which have been recorded in Buenos Aires, Frankfurt and Toronto. Band members in Argentina are: Vocals: Philip Kurt Kressin (Kirt) Guitar: Javier Bustos Synthesizer: Nicolas Ospina Bass: Juan Huici Drums: Alejandro Lopez Read more on Last.fm.
