Kontingent 88 was a French Rock Against Communism band from Angers that formed in November 1985. Laurent "P'tit Four" Mallet was their lead vocalist and later bassist. Joining him was Laurent "Small" on guitars, Christophe "Doctor" on bass and Guillaume on drums. 1987 saw their debut with the demotape "Un Jour viendra...". The band earned the attention of Gaël Bodilis who later signed them onto his label Rebelles Européens. Kontingent 88 was among the earliest RAC bands to incorporate Heavy Metal into their sound. The first album "Au service de nos ancêtres" featured three Metal songs which the band would subsequently pursue. The band would fully transition from Punk-influenced RAC to Hard Rock and Heavy Metal on "Générations futures". Read more on Last.fm.
