Larry Lurex was the artist name used for a musical project by Trident Studios’ house engineer Robin Geoffrey Cable, in 1972. Cable enlisted singer Freddie Mercury from the band Queen to perform lead vocals on. Freddie, in turn, enlisted Queen bandmates Brian May and Roger Taylor to play guitar and drums on the tracks. The name is a pun on the moniker of glam rock star Gary Glitter. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
