Lightning War is a one-man cybergrind project from Worthing, England; its sole member being the ever enigmatic Lord Saevaldr. The music is nihilistic in structure, using powerchords at semitone intervals almost exclusively and variety of quickly changing and abnormal time signatures. Relentless blastbeats and harsh guitars and synthesizers (all distorted almost beyond recognition) accompany screamed and growled obscenities, offending as many people as possible. All this is in keeping with the project's philosophy, outlined in the linear notes of its original release Shitting in the Face of God: "These are worrying times; humanity has been corrupted by Judeo-Christian morality ('everyone is equal', 'love thy neighbour', the sickening obsession with the individual etc.) and if something is not done to resolve the situation soon, our species will be wiped out entirely through the mindless self indulgence of the Untermensch. Before we can take action, however, we must cleanse our minds of the diseased values to which we are constantly subjected. It is for this reason that Lightning War advocates a complete rejection of value - Nihilism - as a means of cleansing oneself of this cancer, that one might then be able to 'start again', creating pragmatic, logical and healthy values that are in harmony with the Cosmic Order."
