Lodekka

Lodekka began life as the side-project of multi-instrumental musician and graphic designer Stuart Dace. In a gloriously chequered career, Stuart was sax player on the classic Primal Scream album Screamadelica, was a member of Mo Wax band Deep Joy and has worked as Head Of Design at Chrysalis Records! http://lodekka.believeband.com/ His sound can be described as quirky, stone-head dub performed on un-usual instrument combinations with fusions of jazz, reggae and funk. Instrumentation includes ukulele, melodica, theremin, double bass, trumpet, clarinet and saxophone with a generous helping of ambient electronica. Despite impressive jazz credentials there are no overly-fancy solos here, just bucket loads of atmosphere and a laid-back quality that is hard to define but quite magical. Live, Lodekka transforms into the Lodekka Hi-Fi Soundsystem whose funky dubby mash ups have graced the Big Chill festival alongside Coldcut and DJ Food.
