Loopless

Loopless is a well known project of a Portuguese band which reveals the best side of the new generation of jazz,lounge and soul music. Their music is inspired by a sophisticated atmosphere of smooth musical arrangements. Kika (Singer/Writer and Co-composer) was member of the first and probably the best Funk Soul band in Portugal, Blackout (worked with Ernie McKone, Vallerie Ettienne, Micke McVoy, Andy Price and many more...) and after 2 albums, moved on to pursue a solo career! Her debut solo album, (with a very stylized soul sound) was produced by Jeff Taylor (Janet Jackson, Sound of Blackness, Barry White ...). Hugo Novo (Piano, Rhodes, Synthes and Co-composer) has studied piano at Porto Conservatory and Composition at Esc. Sup. de Educação do Porto. Worked on Kika's solo album as composer and musician and has done many arrangements for different projects. Plays regularly with local Jazz bands. He also teaches music to primary school children and to the inmates at Lisboa's main prison (as part of a rehabilitation program).
