Innovative, funky, street smart, soulful femininity are just a few words that describe the female group Lovher. After hearing the groups music, it is obvious that they are talented but their strong will and determination shows that this group has heart and staying power. Their music showcases the groups natural edginess and it is fueled by their burning desire to sing meaningful songs that touch peoples' lives. Formerly signed to Def Soul, as the first female group on that label, their music and videos are still heavily requested and downloaded. Prior to their recording contract with Def Soul, Lovher worked diligently in various parts of the country, looking for that seemingly unattainable big break. But when each of the ladies encountered Sisqo and the members of the group Dru Hill, things began to look up. Sisqo wanted to put together a girl group that would present a raw, street R& B appeal and Lovher fit the description. In 2003, without ever even officially releasing an album, Lovher was nominated for a Lady of Soul Award and they were featured in widely published magazines, such as Vibe, Teen People, Black Beat, Right On, Honey and a notable mention in Billboard Magazine. The press always seems to gravitate toward Lovher because they're the epitomy of a refreshing blend of sexiness, sassiness, earthiness, realness, and raw yet seasoned talent. Since their departure from Def Soul, Lovher is quite possibly the most anticipated comeback group of 2006. The group is currently based in Philadelphia, PA which is one the nations' most historical music cities. (Gamble&Huff, Patti Labelle, Teddy P, etc). Since the begining of '06 they have been working very hard at perfecting their skills in singing, songwriting and even producing! They have worked with popular producers, such as Grammy nominated, MAAD PHUNK!, best known for their work with Fabolous and Flipmode Squad as well as producers from Midi Mafia best known for 50 Cents' "21 Questions" and last but not least the Philly based production camp called Hot City Music Group yielding producer's like: Young Genius (Mariah Carey's Diamond Album "Emancipation of MiMi") and IG (Nephew, Young Geezy, etc) just to name a few. Now armed with a new sound; new songs from some great producers; a new look and a revitalized spirit, Chinky, Buttah and Serenade strongly believe that they will soon separate themselves from the myriad of other would-be and existing girl groups. This time around they are much smarter and wiser, so even though a few Major labels are currently showing some strong interested they are still shopping for the right situation. When the time is right they will once again be sending a resounding message to music fans across the world. Most importantly that female groups can stay together and have longevity despite much adversity. You can trust that this girl group will soon be making it happen because "To Know Her Is To Lovher." http://www.myspace.com/ilovher Read more on Last.fm.
