Clara Lucila Campos Marcial (16 August 1938 – 12 December 2016 in Lima) was a Peruvian singer known as "la Morena Espectáculo" and "Reina de las Polladas". Lucila Campos, the quintessential interpreter of Afro-Peruvian folk music, was, for 17 years, a prominent member of Black Peru, an Afro-Peruvian cultural association whose mission was to preserve the art and culture of Blacks in Peru. Ms. Campos began singing at a young age, her first song was Peruanita Bonita. She is best known for her songs: Guaranguito, La Morena Trinidad, Toro Mata, and Samba Malate. In 1978, she recorded Ruperta of Angel Anibal Rosado. In recent years she has toured in the United States including dates in San Francisco, Atlanta, Connecticut, NJ, Virginia and Las Vegas. And she has shared the stage with such luminaries as Celia Cruz in New York. To date she has made approximately thirty recordings. Ms. Campos has been an avid devotee of the Lord of Miracles as long as she can remember. It serves as an inspiration for her life and work. She has two children: Zoila Guadalupe Garcia and Pedro Guadalupe. Her son is also a well known model, who also uses the name Peter Ferrari. Unfortunately, more recently she had experienced a number of health challenges due to complications of diabetes. Lucila Campos is affectionately known as 'Tia' and loved by millions across the globe.
