Worked as a stockbroker for many years before his Broadway debut in 1987. Worked as a troubadour in Colonial Williamsburg as an undergraduate. Graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor His first solo CD, with conductor Skitch Henderson and the New York Pops entitled "Magical Moments From Great Musicals", has sold over 300,000 copies. Born and raised in Newport News, Virginia. In 1987, he was chosen to perform for Queen Elizabeth II in the Royal Variety Show in London. His first stage role was in 1985 when he landed the starring role in "Tecumseh" in Ohio. The production was so low budget, that he had to live in a tent with three other guys during the entire run.
