Mono Town is a three piece band from Reykjavik, Iceland that formed in 2010; consisting of multi-instrumentalist brothers – Börkur Hrafn Birgisson & Daði Birgisson, and lead vocalist & guitarist, Bjarki Sigurðsson. Mono Town’s music is filled with warm tones, bursting with orchestral symphonies and sweetly defiant vocals from singer, Bjarki Sigurdsson. Showing that they're not ones for sitting on their laurels, the band took to producing the record themselves, choosing to record the album in their home town of Reykjavik, then traveling to New York to be mixed by the Grammy Award Winning mixer, Michael Brauer. Their debut album has been described as an exceptionally well written and crafted body of work which builds on equal proportions of beauty, drama and melody and manages to add perfectly sized fractions of narrative tension and rawness into to the songs. 'In The Eye Of The Storm' has just received two awards at the prestigious 2015 Iceland Music Awards - walking home with the coveted 'Best Rock Album' and 'Best Rock Song for 'Peacemaker'. No mean feat given the quality & quantity of music coming out of Iceland right now. http://www.monotownmusic.com http://smarturl.it/monotown http://recordrecords.com/product/mono-town https://www.facebook.com/monotownband https://twitter.com/Monotown_Band Read more on Last.fm.
