There is more than one artist with this name: (1) UK band Morning Call formed in December 2004 in Blackburn, Lancashire, UK. Members: Tony Sharples (Bass and Vocals), Kip Dickinson (Guitars), Andy Macauley (Piano, Electrics, Backing vocals and Percussion), Carl Elmer (Drums and Vocals) http://www.morningcall.co.uk (2) US band Morning Call started with the departure of the band Undergo. Sashco, Paul and Nathan decided to continue on and start a new band. So here came the search for a vocalist. It took a few months of trying people out before they tried out Brandon Mason. Nathan knew Brandon through being a fan of the same music, which brought them together as friends. The answer was in front of them the whole time. After jamming a few weeks together the temporary line-up was formed: Brandon Mason, Paul (Icepick) Payne, Nathan Brophy, and Alexandre Bogdanov. Then came writing some new songs. They worked on a few and recorded them with Adam Sutherland (Armchair Cynics). The songs on the demo included Rocket Science, Break the Glass, and Wicklow. They sent the songs to Richard Reines of Drive-Thru Records hoping he'd like them. Richard has been a friend of the band at this point. Starting in 2003 when Nathan started trading emails and visiting them down in California. In failing attempts to get his attention with old material, the new demo got them a showcase down in California. They drove down to play the showcase in July and past the test. Drive-Thru wanted to sign their first Canadian/International band. January 2005 brought about some changes to the lineup. After looking for a second guitarist for quite some time, they asked Travis Gingrich to join the ranks of Morning Call. They jammed with him for a good month before coming to the conclusion that he was the best man for the job. January 2006 brought upon even more changes, as the band, and singer Brandon Mason decided to part ways. After a seemingly endless search for a new vocalist, Morning Call was contacted by Jeff Sahyoun, formely of Best Interest. It was a long shot, as he was from California, but he agreed to drop everything and come up immediately for an audition. A few weeks and many phone calls later, everything was in place and Jeff was up in Victoria, BC to write an EP with the band in three weeks. On July 1, Morning Call moved down to Los Angeles, California to finish up writing and begin recording for their debut album. Unfortunately, guitarist Paul Payne decided not to join the band. Singer Jeff Sahyoun began taking up guitar duties as well as vocals, and Morning Call became a four piece. Expect to hear more info on the writing process, as well as recording dates very shortly.
