Over-reactor are a hip-hop/hardcore/metal two piece from Melbourne, Australia, formed in 2010. The members are Ezekiel Ox (Mammal) and Cory Blight (Dukes Of Windsor). By the end of February 2010, the pair had worked Cory's instrumental demos into the basis for an album. The challenge now was finding a bass player and guitarist to complete the line-up. A mutual friend/mentor suggested they try playing as a two piece. They tried it, and it stuck. March saw the release of their first track - a tongue in cheek, minute long punk song - "Fuck You Myspace," available exclusively on Myspace. The Over-reactor website was launched complete with a music player featuring The Evil Hamlet, a dark spoken word piece set to organ and horror movie samples. Over-reactor first performed live on May 30, 2010 at The Espy Gershwin room, St Kilda. The next shows were supporting COG, June 11 at the Metro Theatre, Sydney, and June 12 at The Tivoli Theatre, Brisbane. On August 9, the self produced, seventeen track album Lose Your Delusion I was released through the band's website. August 13 was the album launch at Ding Dong Lounge, Melbourne. The crowd were treated to baked beans and red wine after the show. It was the first gig featuring a television with visuals for each track. The second album, Lose Your Delusion Too, was released through the Over-reactor website on December 16. The launch this time was in Sydney, December 18 at The St James Hotel. In February 2011, Over-reactor released a fan-voted compilation of the best tracks from the first two albums, titled Lose Your Delusion. Their first national Australian tour ensued, including a support with Front End Loader. At the conclusion of this tour they agreed to stop smashing televisions onstage, due to being banned from returning to a number of venues. In June 2011, the duo supported Karnivool on 21 dates around Australia. Following the tour they returned to the studio to work on the new album, Mouth of The Ghetto, due for release in early 2012. Following the release of Mouth of the Ghetto, the band were relatively quiet for a few years, but returned to the live stage in 2016, and released their third album Cocaine Headdress in 2017.
