Pilot Jazou is the new musical alias of Ugo De Crescenzo, a key figure in the Italian nujazz scene. He's one of the few italian producers who master the full spectrum of Jazz, Downbeat, Bossa and House. The Pilot Jazou incarnation delivers deliciously soulful and luminous nujazz anthems as "Your Crime", "Blackbossa", "Dirty Sky" and "In This Day". Including the uplifting vocals by Imma Costanzo, "Wonderful Morning" is a new rich musical excursion, a punchy groover with rolling bassline, shapely beats, acoustic guitar licks, and meandering live trumpet and sax. Nujazz fans will appreciate the flavor of this album again and again. Music that flows with elegance and easiness! Ugo De' Crescenzo, talented neapolitan music producer hides himself under the name of Pilot Jazou. In the last five years he has devoted himself to the production of electronic music, from downbeat to house. Ugo De' Crescenzo now proves he is one of the most talented wizards of the European nujazz scene. He has recently released the successful "Hitchcock Road" (Minus Habens/Emi 2002) with "Gone", an electronic "open" project including Leziero Rescigno ("La Crus" drummer) and Andrea Cozzani ("Planet Funk" bassist). Since 1999 he has been joining "Soul Mio", a trip-hop band from Naples, produced by Fridge Records. Soul Mio have released two albums: "Vertigini" (Fridge/Sony 1999), co-produced with Sie-Midway Smith (collaborator of Howie B and Bjork) and "El sol se pone negro" (Fridge/Self 2001) whose title track has been selected in May 2002 for the Piaggio tv commercial. In these days Ugo De' Crescenzo is currently recording the third album of the Neapolitan band. Pilot Jazou debut album is out now on Disturbance and the single "Your Crime" has been included in the acclaimed compilation "The Golden Room vol. 2". You only need to listen to tracks as "Your Crime" or "Black Bossa" to be convinced that there is a secret in Pilot Jazou music, resisting to all explanations. Read more on Last.fm.
