Polarization

Polarization is an instrumental trio that creates a unique mix of hard-grooving heavy metal and atmospheric electronica. Within the span of one song they will hit the listener with pounding, adrenaline fueled, syncopated rhythms and then play hauntingly beautiful melodic passages that send shivers down the spine. Polarization is a perfect fit for fans of bands like Animals as Leaders, Meshuggah, Cloudkicker, and Spastic Ink. Polarization, including MI grads Prashant Mathias (Guitar), Tom Asvold (Drums), and bassist Steve Hilson (Music Business), has signed with Mediaskare Records. The label has set a Spring release date for their debut album, Chasing the Light. The band, which has already opened for Animals as Leaders, Fair to Midland, Prong and others, formed a year and a half ago when all three were attending MI. “It’s a big step for the band and for me personally,” said lead guitarist and songwriter Mathias. “I came to MI two years ago on a scholarship, and I’ve already achieved the first of many goals by signing a record deal with a label I respect.
