Veteran rappers Mike (Anonymous) Pruitt, Raheem Jamal and Moe Pope show versatility as leaders of a new generation of conscious hip-hop. Project Move evolved from the popular Boston group Electric Company, which featured the well-respected MC/producer Insight ("The Blast Radius" - Brick Records / Insight.fm) as well as guest DJ and rapper Edan ("Beauty and the Beat" Lewis Records / HumbleMagnificent.com) appearing at live performances. Electric supported their internationally popular release "Life's A Struggle" in 2004 (Sun Moon/Traffic Ent.,) performing with many big names in the hip-hop world including KRS-1 (on multiple occations,) Akrobatik and Mr. Lif to name a few. Electric is also featured on the commercially released live concert DVD "Hip-Hop Peace and Unity Fest" sharing the stage with KRS-1, Big Daddy Kane, Skillz, Edo G, PMD F/ DJ Honda, and Pharoahe Monch. Moe Pope spent the late nineties in Oakland, CA with the highly influential hip-hop band Mission. Mission featured Moe along side of prolific MC, Raashan Morris, and a band that featured musicians from both California and the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. Raashan and the band are currently touring and releasing records as the Crown City Rockers (Caroline dist.) Popular SF Bay producer Headnodic is also a featured member of Crown City and a favored producer of Project Move. -Both "Woo" and "Butterfly Theory" where produced by Headnodic Mission's album "ONE" (Insiduous/Caroline dist.) set the tone for hip-hop's underground in 2001 with singles like "Disturbing Behavior" and "Contagious". Mission enjoyed success after the release of "One" with multiple West coast tours, a European tour, and a completely sold out 4 show Boston stay. In addition to releases on Insiduous Urban Records, Mission had multiple releases on Om Records, one featuring a calloboration with the popular hip-hop group People Under the Stairs. In 2002 Moe came back to Boston and joined up with Raheem, Anonymous, and DJ Beyonder. Innovative DJ/Producer/B-boy Beyonder ("7L & Beyonder, Vinyl Thug Music" - BrickRecords.com) lays the foundation for PM. Beyonder provides to the group proficient turntablism and acrobatic break-dancing, encapsulating all the elements in PM's performances. Project Move records in Boston's "City Lights" dance and record studio, the birthplace of many classic Boston tracks from Edan, 7L & Esoteric, Electric Co., and etc... City Lights is also a second home to the B-boy/B-girl crew, the Floorlords (Floorlords.com). With a Dream team of producers at there side (Beyonder, Soul Supreme, Headnodic, Cinematic, and Endangered Species) the forth coming "Love Gone Wrong/Butterfly Theory" is a record for the masses, providing the listener with a deep test in intellectual thought as well as a journey through a jazz space odyssey. Project Move's MCs have supported many national and internationally touring artists including KRS-1, Talib Kweli, Digable Planets, Little Brother, Slum Village, Common, Acrobatic, Mr. Lif, Pharoah Monch, CL Smooth, Jeru the Damaja, Special Ed, Royce Da 5'9, Edan, Insight & the Electric Company, and the 3 Kings Read more on Last.fm.
