Punch & the Apostles are an extremely eclectic, Berlin-based 5 piece. The current line-up is Paul Napier(guitar/piano/voice), Juliana Napier(tenor sax/voice), Douglas MacGregor(drums), Ross Fleming(accordion) and Rory Haye(bass guitar/voice). Previously based in Glasgow, the line-up has varied, though for a period from early 2008 was a stable seven, including the current five, and Chas T. Frazer(trumpet) and Craig Nelson(alto sax). With this line-up they recorded their recently released eponymous debut album, and two more yet to be released full-lengths. Their sound has developed considerably in the two years of their existence, though has remained uniformly eclectic, bringing together a huge range of styles and influences, from music hall and tango to free-jazz, noise, classical, and more traditional pop and rock forms.
