Rich Price is a songwriter and composer and member of The Sweet Remains. Rich's latest solo album, moonlight breaks, is his fourth studio album (and first in more than five years). Recorded in Vermont and California (with some additional tracking in Tennessee), the album was produced & mixed by Rich Price, Joe Deveau and Clint Bierman, with additional production from Andy Zulla and Jack Gauthier. "I loved making this record," Rich says, "because I had a chance to work with some of my absolute favorite artists, and most of it was done in my home studio, so we could make some music, come upstairs for dinner and go down and make more noise." The album features the artistry of some of Rich's longtime collaborators including Joe Deveau, Clint Bierman, Peter Day, Jeff Symonds, Andrew Doolittle, Brian Chartrand, Will Evans and more. "In many ways, this is my favorite batch of songs." Rich's music has been featured in film and television, most notably on the platinum-selling Shrek 2 soundtrack. Recently, Rich's songs have appeared on shows such as "In Plain Sight," MTV's "Real World" and in TV commercials (including Bridgestone Tires, Subaru, Macy's, Vineyard Vines and more). Rich's debut album, Night Opens (2002), was produced by (college roommate) Pete Francis (of Dispatch) and Jack Gauthier (Dispatch's producer). "That record was magical for me," Rich remembers, "we went in thinking we would record a 3 song demo and came away with an entire album tracked in a day. Pete and Jack created such an incredible vibe, and people really responded to that rawness and spontaneity." Shortly after its release, Rich was signed RCA Records and, after a label reshuffle, was later signed to Geffen. While at Geffen, Rich recorded his second album, Miles From Anywhere (2004), produced by Andy Zulla, with additional production by Jack Gauthier. "I had an opportunity to put together an incredible band and hit the road, criss-crossing the country and playing show after show. I learned so much for those guys, and, when I was dropped by the label, I had this reservoir of songs that I'd written on the road, and, before the band broke up we went in and tracked a bunch." That would serve as the foundation for much of his third record, All These Roads (2006), once again teaming up with Andy Zulla. Bio from Rich Price | Rich Price Music Read more on Last.fm.
