UK male vocalist. Had two chart hits in 1970 - Take to the Mountains (pos 35,8 wks.) & Go North (pos 38, 3 wks). Described on his self titled debut LP as "a sensitive sounding English lad". The LP includes 10 songs by the likes of Elton John, Paul Simon, Rod McKuen, Nilsson, Buffy Sainte-Marie and Emitt Rhodes. Side one: Take to the mountains Your song Live till you die Take my hand for a while Maybe Side 2: It's getting better Homeward bound London I think I'm getting over you Go north A second album was released in 1970 together with Tony Hazzard called Hazzard & Barnes - Journey's End. It contained the following titles: Side one: Journey's end Warning lights South west wind Sweet green fields of England Fox on the run Side 2: Givin out love Home again with you Rock & roll lady Take to the mountain (a country version - beautiful) Still in love with you Unfortunately he did not become the most famous Barnes, as hoped on the liner notes of his first LP.
