Robert Fripp & The League of Gentlemen

The League Of Gentlemen was a late-1970s band featuring guitarist Robert Fripp of King Crimson. Other members included bass guitarist Sara Lee (who later joined Gang Of Four and The Indigo Girls), keyboardist Barry Andrews (formerly of XTC; later of Shriekback) and drummer Johnny Toobad. Toobad was replaced with a substitute drummer, Kevin Wilkinson (later of Squeeze) for the bulk of the band's only studio album, The League of Gentleman, released by EG/Polydor in 1981. In 1985, Fripp released an album credited to "The League of Gentlemen" and titled God Save the King that included the second of the title tracks from his 1980 solo album God Save the Queen/Under Heavy Manners, a reworked version of other material from that album retitled "God Save the King" and seven of the 14 tracks from the League's eponymous 1981 studio album. In 1996, Fripp's independent label Discipline Global Mobile released an "official bootleg" live album of the League Of Gentlemen, Thrang Thrang Gozinbulx. The album features several tracks that were never recorded in the studio by the band. Two other live albums by the band have since been released exclusively as digital downloads through DGMLive.com.
