Born in Cuba, Poveda's earliest infuence was his grandfather, Marcelino Lopez, a folk singer. Poveda became an early follower of the nueva trova movement in Havana. In 1989 he moved to Colombia where he became a T.V. star. However music was always a part of his life, and he continued to write his own music while acting. His talent eventually brought him to Miami where he wrote for the Latin market with publishers Peer Music. 'Son Electrico' is his first solo album, produced by Poveda and Zlatan Nikolic. Actually he lives in New York City and travels around the U.S and Europe. Contact info: robertopoveda@yahoo.com Read more on Last.fm.
