Ronald Turner is a native of Memphis, Tennessee and a Music major from Florida A & M University in Tallahassee, Florida. He was a member of the esteemed “Marching 100” band. After college graduation, Ronald was a band director in the state of Florida. He relocated to Los Angeles and continued teaching, performing, and writing. After a career change to the Information Technology field, Ronald worked as a computer programmer, computer instructor, and network administrator with companies ranging from General Electric to the Federal Aviation Administration. Ronald has performed with the world renown Ray Charles, blues singer Esther Phillips at Carnegie Hall, gospel artist James Cleveland, and jazz trumpeters Dizzy Gillespie and Freddy Hubbard. As an additional career component, Ronald used his musical skills to become a songwriter, bandleader, and music producer. He formulated a Nu Jazz group under the name of Ronald Turner And The Fashion Statement. A successful, award-winning, smooth jazz CD was recorded by Ronald entitled It’s All About Love. It received national and global accolades from more than 80 radio stations to include commercial, satellite, and Internet radio. It is yet a perennial favorite with his hometown's jazz radio station WUMR of Memphis. Ronald also released another successful smooth jazz CD entitled Love Prevails which has received rave reviews from jazz writers and radio stations around the globe. Read more on Last.fm.
