Routes were formed in 2001 in Chalkida,Greece. The first members were James and Antonis who had started by playing only guitars and having vocals before they found Theodosis, for drums and George for bass, who joined the band one year later. Inspired by bands like Motörhead,System Of A Down,Slipknot and Sepultura had great vision about the type of music they wanted to play. After a period with intense rehearsal they were in 2003 ready to record their first self-financed demo which was followed up with concerts in Odeio Fakana in Athens this year and another in Onoma tou Rodou one year later, in 2004. In 2005 having changed their influences to Kyuss,Fu Manchu,Honcho,Monster Magnet, Saint Vitus etc, Routes decided to release their 2nd self-financed demo which had a heavy-stoner rock character and which was followed up with a concert in Rodeo. After a period with intense rehearsal and song writing they decided in 2006 and 2007 to give a series of concerts in Rodeo and An Club to promote their songs. Receiving great reviews decided to send their demo to Trailblazer Records. Trailblazer Records is one of the first records companies that noticed Routes and wanted Routes to contribute with 2 songs. The corporation went so well that Trailblazer Records decided not only to release their promo in January of 2008 but also their debut album at the end of March 2008. In summer 2009 "Tost" (Bass player of Bag A Head) replaced George("Taz") when he left the band due to personal reasons. In summer 2010 Tasos (Guitar player of Bag A Head) joined our band and our family as synth, generator, noise, space sounds maker. Routes are recording another full length album.
