SS-Say made their live debut at the William Burroughs visit "Last Chance" in Copenhagen in the autumn of 1983, at the time featuring Lena Walsh on vocals. Being replaced by Inge Shannon in 1984, the group recorded the 'Fusion' 12" single later that year. The record was orginally planned to be an album, but two unfinished recordings were left out during the process (one untitled track and the later Martin Hall recording "Deep Inside Me" featured on his 1986 double-album 'Cutting Through'). Inge Shannon had worked with Martin Hall in the cult project Pesteg Dred back in 1981 (the third member of this band being Per Hendrichsen of Under For). During this period the group recorded 'Years Of Struggle Against The Lies, The Stupidity And The Cowardice', an album that never got released as an LP, but became available as an MC many years later with Atlas Magazine no. 1 (1985).
