There are at least three artists named Sagat. One Techno, One Hip Hop and one Progressive Doom Metal. The latter has released an ep which is available for free download from http://www.sagatmusic.com/ 1) Mysterious Techno producer, signed to Vlek Records. Rose to fame when Ben Klock included his track "Few Mysteries Solved In A Year Of Contact" in his Fabric 66 Mix. 2)SAGATMANCHU … formerly known as Sagat Profile: Baltimore Based Rapper and Poet Label: Imperial Underground Sound Signals In the Beginning of the Hip Hop Explosion at age 13 (1983); writing rhymes and free styling became Sagatmanchu’s best aspiration as a vocalist. While experimenting with different artist names including Chico Slamm, Sagat, Blacksam and Blackstar Oneson, Sagatmanchu developed a wide array of M.C. styles including Word Play, Word Bending, Braggadocio, Battle Rapping, Commentating and Simile / Metaphor. Being very musically inclined, had perfected different deliveries or “lyrical rhythms” or “flow”. Also being fluent in Spanish or Castellano made it easier to experiment with the other Romantic Languages including French, Italian and Portuguese. Beginning in 1989 Sagatmanchu has shared stages with long list of Artists on stages in Baltimore and D.C. Being more inclined to studio recording and aspiring to an Artist Recording Contract, Sagatmanchu worked on perfecting various styles of Rap, and Spoken Word. In 1993, Sagatmanchu wrote a song titled “Fuk Dat” and it became an Underground Smash. After signing a record deal with Maxi Records, Sagatmanchu made a cleaner version of the song titled “Funk Dat” which was intended for Radio. Soon after, “Funk Dat” began to climb the charts as it did the Clubs. By the end of 1993, Sagatmanchu participated in a video production for “Funk Dat” and MTV added the video into rotation. By spring 1994 “Funk Dat” had already been introduced overseas with very good feedback from the Underground, The Clubs and some mix shows. The success caused an invitation to MTV’s Spring Break (February 1994) and Sagatmanchu performed the then #1 Hit Song “Funk Dat”. Sagatmanchu was also featured in MTV’s Beavis and Butthead which aired on MTV from 1994 until 2000. Funk Dat became the #1 club single of 1994. Eventually “Fuk Dat“ and “Funk Dat” was very well received in 46 countries to where Writers royalties are still being distributed from 14 countries as of December 2009 which is 16 years after the initial release. In late 1994, Maxi Records released parts of a Sagatmanchu compilation Titled: “My poem is…The World According To Sagat” …where “Alias Sagat” or known by most as “Sagat” introduced the album with the First Directive of “The Universal Timecode” which is enforced by “Jamma Quadrant One“. It is the second “Sound Signal” sent from “Jamma Quadrant One“ “Rhythm is in Everything”. The album included 3 song collaborations with “Shinehead” , Bhudda Bless (RI), and Brandon “Bambu” Parker. The skits on the album were performed by “Alias Sagat”, Rashid “Bam“, and Tim “Phat Dahdee” Moore. The album told the story from Alias Sagat’s two loves of Underground Music: Hip Hop and Dance music. The A side of the LP was Up-tempo Fusion and the B side was Down Tempo Fusion, giving Alias Sagat a wide tempo range (95-122bpm) to exhibit his many different styles of Rap on several True Life Subjects. Hence the Quote “New Styles…New Expressions.” Two more singles “Get outta My Face“ and “Luvstuff” were released from the album before Alias Sagat and Maxi records ceased relations. Alias Sagat is now SAGATMANCHU. Upon completing his mission, the 2nd generation Jamm Droid, Alias Sagat “The Seeker” returned to the Cutty One Sector and has been commissioned to a distant Galaxy. In Reverence of The Universal Timecode; The Cutty One Sector has issued the 3rd generation Jamm Droid…………… “Sagatmanchu”………The Jeweler….The Crazy Face…… Baltimore based Rapper Age 40. Label: Imperial Underground Sound Signals Sagatmanchu’s mission is to reestablish and Uphold the Underground: Which is the first of Rhythmical Directives as set forth by the Universal Timecode’s “Intergalactic Rhythm Principals“. “The Fusion Theory 2010” Lp is scheduled for release July 2010 on Imperial Underground…... excerpt from....The "Galactic Alignment" “Jamma Quadrant One” “Going out to All Party Sectors” “This Sound Signal contains the 1st Directive of The Universal Timecode.” “As we control the Rhythm in this Sonic Transmission,” “Sagatmanchu……Your mission …” “To uphold the Underground so that all dance floors be embraced by The Universal Timecode.” http://www.imperialunderground.com Read more on Last.fm.
