The artist known as Saint Peter was born and raised in eastern North Carolina (9/27/1985) and is the second oldest of six children. He threw himself deeply into music at the young age of eight, first singing in his church youth choir before progressing to middle school where he learned to play the saxophone, becoming prodigiously good at it. Upon entering high school his musical prowess continued to grow even garnering the national Louis Armstrong Jazz Award. Throughout this, he grew up in a violent household receiving no support from anyone except his mother, who secretly ushered him along in his dreams. He then was accepted to study at the prestigious East Carolina University School of Music, then considered one of the top 5 music schools in the country. He then decided to broaden his reach in acting and garnered two small parts in the SONY Screen Gems films, Bolden, and The Marc Pease Experience. He caught the attention of the well known talent agency, Diverse Talent Group and was signed to the agency after an agent flew to North Carolina to scout. After being selected by this agent, he then moved to Los Angeles in August of 2007, with big goals in mind. He quickly got accepted for numerous TV auditions, and landed small parts in television shows such as Cold Case, October Road, Eastwick, and Out of Jimmy's Head. Soon afterwards, he began to now focus more on his original goal of being a musician. He eventually started playing shows at numerous bars and coffee shops, where he was then seen performing by A&R execs from Universal and Atlantic Records. He's been booked to perform at legendary Sunset Strip venues such as the House of Blues, The Whisky, The Roxy, The Rainbow Bar and Lounge, just to name a few. He's also been booked to perform as the opening at the Aqua Lounge for Crazytown. He was even booked to play a personal and intimate performance at the house of world famous fashion designer, Ximena Valero. He continued as an independent artist and decided to produce his own first album, which led to a few of those tracks from the EP being licensed to play as the theme song for a web series entitled Makin' It Happen, the theme song for a short film called Made Me Stronger, and as the closing song in the short film, Love Unconditional. He can be often quoted as saying, "I was often told I couldn't do much right, but at least I know I can do this (music)". It has not been an easy climb for him, and has even faced homelessness due to him being fired from numerous jobs, because he would spend most of his work time writing songs and singing. "I'm not made for a 9-5," is his official self proclaimed motto. Currently, he is recording his "formal" debut album at the world famous Village Recorder. His debut album is set to be released in the later part of 2013. The title of the album is to be called "Car Camping" since he wrote most of the lyrics for the album while homeless, living in his car. The album is said to have a flair of darkness and heartbroken sorrow, in the style of a stripped Adele, while telling a story of a phoenix musician, emoting light. Read more on Last.fm.
