For more information, see http://www.satisfactioninjection.nl/ or email info@satisfactioninjection.nl Satisfaction Injection is a young band consisting of Matthijs Tuijn (guitar/tenor saxophone), Bas Warner (guitar), Kim Bots (alto saxophone/clarinet), Jonathan Roorda (bass guitar/piano) and Laurens Roorda (drums/soprano saxophone). SI started four years ago as a jamming formation and has grown into a band with it's own material and an extensive cover repetoire. Jazz forms the basis of the music of SI. In the songs, experimentations with funk, fusion and post-rock takes place. Jazz like John Coltrane, but also progressive rock bands like The Brecker Brothers, Caravan, Frank Zappa are their source of inspiration. SI wants to experiment with jazz and similar genres and tries to deviate from the tradition, taking a new road. All songs are instrumental, but with content and meaning. Apart from this, humor also plays a large role. Fun and relaxation play important roles during concerts. Examples of this spirit are (dutch) song titles like Alweer Een Beer, Fazantkastelen and Kung Fu. SI has some memorable concerts in its recent past, like the show on the Botermarkt during the Haarlem Jazzstad jazz festival in 2006. Being runner up in the Rob Acda Award is also a nice memory. Other notable shows include Beeckestijn Pop 2007, Christmas Crapshoot on christmas night in The Patronaat, Haarlem. A videoclip for the song Alweer Een Beer has been made (soon to be found online) and a lyricless 20+minute jazzrockopera named "Der Untergang Des Reerug Rob" was recently finished.
