Sex and Steel Wool, named after a silly response in a charades type game at a party where the members met, was Buffalo's premier Surf Rock Band. Because of the chilly weather in Western New York, SSW filled an interesting void- Beach Rock. The band consisted of Andy Ramage (guitar/vocals), Geoff Keiser (vocals, percussion, guitar), Alex Baker (vocals/bass), and Brian Green (guitar, sequencers, & vocals). Sex and Steel Wool disbanded in November of 2006 and reformed with new members as Speed Limit Seven. Many of the songs continued with a new life in a sound that became technology based using sequencers in place of a live drummer after Keiser's departure from the band. Ramage departed shortly after who was then replaced by Dave Marcoux on guitar and vocals. Read more on Last.fm.
