Sh'mantra is an Australian progressive rock band based in Sydney, Australia who almost never gig. Partly because of the lousy Sydney music scene, and partly because they're too lazy. They formed around 1997 from the remains of a doom metal band named Cruciform. Initially named Cornucopia, they were asked to rename themselves by a Finnish folk trio who claimed they came up with the name first (they did). So their 1998 debut album 'Cornucopia' in a sense is self titled. In another, more correct sense, it isn't. Their most recent album ...A System of Moments was released in 2005. Big in Europe.
