Berlin based music project by singer Juliane Karpen and producer Nick Parkman. Singer Juliane grew up in a musicians family and started singing in her early childhood at family celebrations. Later her father took her to his klezmer live sessions where she developed her voice. Since 2001 Juliane did some background performances in a soul-project where 70's Lounge music and 90's Trip-Hop inspired her singing style. Producer Parkman's first music experiments in the early 90's tearing down some Amiga computers and one forming a punk band. In 1996 he started the Trip-Hop project EKB together with Alex Krüger and Nadine Hemme. Two years and some live performances later they split. After a lazy period Parkman began writing and producing again, composing the soundtrack for a low budget movie. In 2002 the two met on a boat where a friend of Juliane gave a party. Juliane did a live performance which impressed Parkman and he asked for a collaboration. They meet from time to time to develop new material. The first release came in 2005 when Down The Drain appeared on Mercedes-Benz Mixed Tape 09. Read more on Last.fm.
