Sonicflyer originated in the isolated town of Barnaul in Siberia, where brother / sister combo Yulia (vocals / lead guitar) and Dima (drums) spent the last few years writing, touring, and building up a loyal following of fans along the way. Frustrated by the absence of a music scene in Russia the pair recently moved to the UK and recruited Chris (rhythm guitar / keyboards / vocals) and Rob (bass) to complete a new London-based line up for the band. The band have been working hard as a four-piece on new and old material, and hope to make it big in 2007. The Russian and British halves of the band have plenty in common - including a healthy appetite for all things britpop, with influences ranging from early 90s shoegazing to U2, Oasis and The Verve – and the result is an unlikely fusion of cultures which has produced some powerful and unique results.
