The world is in a weird place at the moment. There is the recession, unemployment, people not able to pay their mortgage. Then there is this Afro-American president in the United States who seems to bring hope to a lot of people. But can they live on hope alone? Is that enough when there are still wars going on. When protests in Iran are shutdown with brutal force. When North Korea rather spends money on nukes then on food for its citizens. Is hope enough if you take into consideration the damage we humans do to the earth. Despite Kyoto, despite the Gore movie we're still polluting. And with we I mean everyone. So is hope enough? Will hope clean up the earth? Will hope stop the recession? No it won't. As individuals we have to take action. Just a slight improvement is an improvement. If we won't act, no one will. Take power into your own hands. Don't expect the government to do it for you. State of Affairs emerged from a frustrating lack of bands playing the kind of music its bandmembers love to hear. Basic melodic hardcore. This frustration evolved in a four track demo which will be released soon. Touching upon topics like organized religion in the scene, the worshipping of celebrity junkies and closed mindness. 'Finally another band in the Netherlands that plays pure oldschool hardcore'. That was the reaction after seeing State of Affairs perform. Despite all the great bands playing punk or trash influenced hardcore, it’s about time for a new Dutch band playing youth crew... think In My Eyes and Youth of Today. Featuring current and ex-members of Heartfelt, MM, Permanent Mark, Operation Phoenix and Press For Go. A four track demo on tape or cd is out now as well as shirts. Read more on Last.fm.
