Mike Slamer is best known as a leading member of City Boy and also Streets (the band he formed with Kansas singer Steve Walsh) and as a very talented guitarist whom among others played all ghost guitar on the first couple of Warrant CD's. Slamer is also known as a songwriter and producer of the highest order in the melodic hardrock genre and has credits working with, among others, Wall Of Silence, House Of Lords, Paul Gilbert, Michael Sweet (Stryper), Big Bang Babies, James Christian, Paul Shortino, Hardline and Tower City just to name a few. Slamer had a vision to create the perfect melodic hard rock album and to create and form the perfect band to go along with it: STEELHOUSE LANE. He presented his idea to A&R director of MTM Music, Magnus Soderkvist. Soderkvist, a long time huge fan of Slamer's work, loved the idea. Slamers long time friends James Christian (Eyes, House Of Lords) and songwriting partner Mark Baker introduced him to Texas born singer ace Keith Slack. A twenty something ace discovery who was the perfect combination of Coverdale and Walsh, still with his very own distinct identity. Slack had moved to Los Angeles in 1990 to find a band and through the years has he worked with, among others Dave Marshall Band (Vince Neil, Brunette). The voice for STEELHOUSE LANE was found and Slamer started to pick songs to create a perfect commercial hardrock album. He decided to use some older songs he written like title track "Metallic Blue" (earlier covered by House Of Lords), Dr. Love (Hardline) and Addicted (Wall Of Silence) which he felt could be even better performed then the versions released .Also, several new songs were written and Slamer co-wrote these with among others Tom DeLuca, Harry Parress and Mark Baker. Joining Slack in the line up of STEELHOUSE LANE is former Rumble Tribe members DeWayne Barron on drums and guitarist Chris Lane. Rumble Tribe had released one James Christian produced album in Japan a couple of years ago. Rounding up the line up is bass player Alan Hearn, a long time friend of Slack.'s. The album was produced by Mike Slamer (who also contributed guitars and keyboards/programming to the album) and includes phenomenal singers Chris Thompson and Tom Field who were brought in to do backgrounds to create an even more perfect combination of harmonies in the choruses. STEELHOUSE LANE is not created for one album, it is planned as a long term project. The band Originally came from Valencia, California, USA. In 2010 Steelhouse Lane has released a remastered version of both their albums in one collection called: Slaves Of The New World / Metallic Blue (Remastered 2CDs). Read more on Last.fm.
