The ensemble was established in 2007 with the objective of bringing Gypsy Swing music to Israeli audiences. The ensemble has already given over 300 performances which weave a musical tale of the two fingered founder of the genre – Django Reinhardt and his Gypsy music. Their repertoire includes the fabulous compositions of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, popular songs from 1920's - 1940's Paris, contemporary Gypsy jazz and original compositions with unique arrangements that incorporate elements of Yiddish songs, middle eastern flavors and a hypnotizing virtuosityThe basic ensemble consists of 3 musicians: Oren Sagi (double bass) an extremely popular jazz musician who intelligently combines his colorful virtuosity and rhythm into the Gypsy swing, thus contributing to the group's special "groove". Yacov Hoter (jazz guitar) graduate of the "Rimon School" and the Jerusalem Academy of Music. As a youngster, Yacov fell in love with the style and traveled several times to Europe to study the basic principles of the Gypsy technique. Ori Ben Zvi (jazz guitar) studied in the "Rimon School" and joined the ensemble on his return from Holland where he traveled in search of the Gypsy music. Read more on Last.fm.
