Matthew Le Blanc (born December 21st, 1983 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) is an independent electronic artist who writes videogame inspired dance music under the name SynthR. Falling in love with dance music in the early 90’s, Matthew began writing in 1997 using Propellerheads’ Rebirth software, later transferring to Fruityloops Studio in 2001 and Propellerheads’ Reason 3.0 in 2006 which he still currently uses. Influenced heavily by music from traditional role playing video games and various Electronic artists, SynthR attempts to fuse the danceability of electronic music with themes of adventure and excitement. Conversely, as an independent artist Matthew Le Blanc strives to take his music to the next level by utilizing his creativity, musical understanding and aspiration to do something different in hopes of writing uniquely enjoyable pieces. Matthew has met with moderate success gaining local and commercial air play on the likes of McMaster University Radio and CBC Radio 3. He has also had his work featured in an issue of Terapia Musical, a Brazilian therapeutic magazine that features a full length CD comprised of various artists. Using the internet as a backbone for promotion, Matthew passionately attempts to widen his fan base through the use of websites and offering free downloads of his work. If you’re interested in contacting SynthR for FREE use of his work, questions or just to say hello he can be reached through this website or by emailing him at SynthR(at)hotmail.com.
