T-Power Vs. M.K. Ultra

Tpower vs MK Ultra are the Pseudonym’s of Drum and Bass Producer Marc ‘T.Power’ Royal and Nigel’ Mk Ultra’ Samuel (aka Nigel Prankster). First heard on vinyl as part of the happy Hardcore outfit Bass Selective ( Alongside Submaster One and Ninebar) who formed in 1992, releasing tracks such a Blow Out pt2, Jessica’s jaw and Get a little Stupid on the DJ Only Label. Royal and Samuel would go on to produce a series of EP’s as a Duo, firstly as Tpower and the Sandman, with the Born 2 Dark EP on Soapbar and then as Tpower vs MK Ultra with the Hugely influential track Horny Mutant Jazz for the S.O.U.R Label. This track was the inspiration for The Mutant Series of remixes ( By DJ Trace), itself, one of tracks that would go on to spawn the Tech step D’n’B style. There would be one other collaboration for The Rumpus Room Club night compilation, Vol 1. The track Claustraphobic killers would introduce the inventive rapped vocal of MC Skan One . T Power would go on to become one of the most influencial Producers in Drum & Bass/New skool Breaks whilst MK Ultra would continue Djing with the (Merry) Pranksters( Rumpus Room/ Melting Pot/Big Chill/Funkt) and the 3Hedz Collective.
