The Course

The Course consists of singer Dewi Lopulalan and DJ/producer Vincent Hendriks. They meet each other in 1990 during the final of the Dutch Mixchampionship. Vincent is then already in the center of attention as the multiple winner of the DMC Dutch DJ Battle. That same year he also wins the titel Dutch Champion Mixing In 1996 they meet again at the DMC-finals, and Vincent then already started producing some tracks. He then asks Dewi to do the vocals in his new track 'Ready or Not'. This dance-cover of the Fugees' smash-hit went up the charts in 1997. In the UK "Ready Or Not" even entered the hitparade on the 5th position. The successor, an up-tempo-version of Chaka Khan's 'Ain't Nobody', also becomes a succes and again entered the UK-charts at a high position, in fact the 8th position. The debut-album is then released and has next to the 2 smash-hits also a few R&B-tracks, under wich the third single 'Missing you', with vocals of King Bee-rapper Spyte. In the video 'Missing you' sings a Dewi who is well-advanced in pregnancy. There are 2 versions of the video.
