The Harrisburg Family Band is a collaborative alternative folk project fronted by singer-songwriter, Gregory S. Rees (Born 5th January, 1980). With an ever-changing line-up of musicians, The Harrisburg Family Band have become a key element on the London folk & americana scene. Rees runs the highly acclaimed Snake Mountain Revue evening at The Betsey Trotwood in Clerkenwell, North London every Tuesday night. He also hosts The Basket Club at The Windmill in Brixton, South London. The Harrisburg Family Band draw upon a variety of influences but their work is often compared to the likes of Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan & Woody Guthrie. Their songs are often political and Rees has gained a reputation for his confrontational live speechifying, much like Billy Bragg or Phil Ochs. They are currently working on their first official album having released several unofficial demo recordings. Read more on Last.fm.
