The American Life

**October 1st, 2010*** a letter to fans and friends ( new update ) This is a letter to all of our friends, Over the last few months TAL has gone through many changes. For starters, the band has undergone some line-up changes due to either personal issues or career choices. With that said, we want to wish Jim, Danny, and Josh great success on whatever endeavors they may encounter. There really is no animosity with this split. We understand that sometimes in life, it's essential to follow your heart, and sometimes that means people have to do what is best for them and start new journeys. As for the rest of us, the remaining members of The American Life, we (Sean, Kyle, David and Brad) wanted/needed to continue pursuing this band and our love of music. Over the past few months we've been hard at work writing new songs and recording new demos. It occurred to us a few months ago that with all of these changes happening within the band, we had a few options. We were in the unique position to either continue on as The American Life, or start new. After talking about it and weighing all of the pros and cons, we felt it would be best to start fresh. We were excited about the idea of having a clean slate and a new beginning. Without further a due we want to announce our new band name: "MAYVIEW" It's very important to us that we extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all the people that supported and continue to support The American Life. We're so thankful to have had the opportunity to make amazing friends across the country and abroad, and we hope to continue doing so. We're really excited for the future of Mayview. We can't wait to show everyone our new songs. We'll be releasing as much music as possible in the next few weeks. We're also very eager to hang out with you all at a show as soon as we're given the chance. We have a lot of things in the works that we'll have coming your way soon.
