The Commercial Hippies , (Anton Raubenheimer and Gareth Tacon), started their musical history together, DJing breakbeat at various parties, in and around Cape Town South Africa. After a couple years of DJing, the two (garethT & Anton) decided to try their hand at producing and soon after the concept of The Commercial Hippies was born. Their first track Where dreams come from received a great response from trance lovers around the world and instantly caught the attention of many a psy-trance ear. The track formed part of the "Clarity" (Nano Records) album, released in 2003. (Detailed album information here). Since the early days , The Commercial Hippies has grown from strength to strength and released a number of extremely well received tracks, such as Dr. Freakenstein, One Step and When the shit hits the fan, to name but a few. They released their intricately detailed debut album "If You Can't Stand the Heat..." in 2006, on Nano Records and have been performing on the world stage ever since.
