The Echelons were a Newark, New Jersey singing group who scored with the regional Christmas hit, "A Christmas Long Ago (Jingle, Jingle), which received significant airplay on WCBS-FM upon it's release in the fall of 1987. The group then became popular on the Northern New Jersey a cappella circuit from 1989-1996 before splitting up. Although "Jingle Jingle" and its follow-up contained music, The Echelons were primarily an acappella group. In 2007, Clifton Records released a compilation of The Echelons a cappella output. The Echelons were: (1987-1989) John Clemente, Anthony Vinci, Pete Marolakos, Mike Fiore; (1989-1993) Joe Gomez, Anthony Gomez, John Clemente, Pete Marolakos, Mike Fiore; (1993-1996) John Clemente, Pete Marolakos, Mike Fiore, Brian Jamieson, Roger Mazzeo.
