Daniel Blackmoor is one of those dreaded "singer/songwriters", but luckily he seems to be able to find some pretty talented musicians to work with so his work is not entirely self-indulgent. Recently called "the Weird Al of the goth scene", his forte is writing tongue-in-cheek original and parody songs that range from painfully punny to shockingly inappropriate. He has been associated, under a variety of stage names, with the following projects: Prayers For the Raven (a serious goth band in the '90's...well apart from that one gothic cover of Gilligan's Island...) The Hammerdowns (as made world famous on the Gothabilly compilation albums) Thee Exit Wounds (UK based psychobilly/punk) Texas Chainsaw (UK based horror rock-n-roll band) The Texas Chainsaw Orchestra (UK): the big band version of the rock-n-roll band The Texas Chainsaw Travelling Horror Picture Show (the theatrical application of the above two bands) The Blackmoor Travelling Picture Show (the US version of the band and show) The Bat Pack/Scream Martin (an Addams Family version of the famous crooner) He has performed under the names: Johnny Hammer, Johnny Chainsaw, Johnny X, Johnny Dark, The Right Horrible Reverend Johnny Dark, Jonathon D.
