The Star Fighter Pilot is Martin Bryant from Manchester, UK. Fusing noisy, dirty electronic pop with rock drums and a witty singer songwriter ethic, he bridges the gap between accessible pop and experimental electronica. Influenced by people as diverse as Beck, Super Furry Animals, Chris T-T and of Montreal; he makes music using his laptop, a bunch of computer programs and an overactive imagination. His first two EPs, Feeding and Chaining and Alkaline Maisonette gained glowing reviews from the likes of Drowned In Sound, High Voltage magazine and Manchestermusic.co.uk. In 2007 he released a 7" split EP alongside The Colt .45s on Leaving Home Records featuring Another Penny and Drunk With You. Some nefarious fellow then shared Another Penny as part of an unauthorised ‘Indie Playlist’ compilation album which has since been downloaded thousands of times and gained The Star Fighter Pilot fans around the world. Playing a steady stream of gigs The Star Fighter Pilot has built up a strong live reputation. He sometimes appears onstage with choreographed dancers and has supported acts as diverse as Bis, Dragonette, Jeremy Warmsley and Scouting For Girls. The 'Kingdom Hearts' EP is released by Filthy Little Angels as a download on www.filthylittleangels.com on the 29th of May 2008. This will be followed by a contribution to a double 7" EP of one-minute-long songs (again through Filthy Little Angels) in the summer.
