The Sunshine Factory is an alternative/noisepop/shoegaze music trio from Mobile, AL, made up of members Ian Taylor (guitars, tracking and vocals), Sally Robertson (bass and vocals), and Clay Bates (drums). While playing shows from NYC to Austin TX (SXSW), the band has produced two full length albums which have received critical acclaim. Vintage Revolution (2009) was released on BFW Netlabel based in the U.K. This debut album was named to the top ten shoegaze albums for 2009 by Loveless music group in NYC. The Sugar album (2011) was released on St. Marie Records, where they share the label with Resplandor, Drowner, Lightfoils and many other artists. The Sunshine Factory has been compared to a variety of bands--from the Pixies to Elliot Smith. They join such bands as Her Vanished Grace, The Pains of being Pure at Heart, Serena-Maneesh, Ringo Deathstarr, A Place to Bury Strangers, Pilot Cloud and The Fauns in the "shoegaze revival that is building in momentum."
