There are two jazz orchestras with the name The Charleston Chasers, with the contemporary one named in tribute to the 1920s version. 1) Consisting of a rotating roster of some of the era's top-flight jazz artists, The Charleston Chasers existed only in name and never performed outside the studio. Recording were released under the name from 1925-1931. Further information (source) at Rovi: http://www.allrovi.com/name/the-charleston-chasers-mn0000763109 . According to The Red Hot Jazz Archive (http://www.redhotjazz.com/charleston.html) the name was used at the Columbia label by various bands, including Red Nichols & His Five Pennies and The Original Memphis Five. It was not unusual at the time for a jazz group to perform or record under a variety of different names. 2) Jazz orchestra formed in England in 1987 and playing music from the period of their namesake, they are described on their website http://www.thecharlestonchasers.com/ as "Europe's Favourite Hot Vintage Orchestra". Current picture is of the latter group, which at this time doesn't have any tracks on last.fm. Read more on Last.fm.
