The Edison Factor are hard dance/hard house producers James Lawson and Matt Williams. Since mid 2005 The Edison Factor Live show brings together their unique blend of live instruments (Guitar, Electric Drums, Trombone and Keyboards) directed in real time by MIDI controllers routed through Ableton Live. The result bringing a more funky/improvised/jazz-like touch to banging hard house. Their album/single releases feature wickedly-paced, energetic tracks, showing consistently tight production quality, catchy hooks, and some of the most creative and engaging syncopated hard dance basslines (skip to the middle of James Lawson's mix of Free your Mind, or Engage by Edison Factor for examples of this...) They have appeared on Hard House/Hard Dance compilations across many labels, as well as their own record label Edisonfactor.net launched early 2005, shortly before they started touring as Edison Factor Live. They also feature in collaborations with friends Ali Wilson (TEKELEC Recordings) and Nick Sentience (Edisonfactor.net). Past venues and events include Global Gathering 2005 and 2007, Godskitchen Polysexual, Innovate, Twisted, Hi:Fi Festival 2006, the MTV Hard Dance Awards 2006 at Brixton Academy and the Extreme Euphoria New Years Eve '06/'07 party at the Shepherd's Bush Empire.
