Tom Hemby has lived and worked in Nashville as an active musician since 1978. He was born in the southeast Missouri city of Poplar Bluff, and raised in the neighboring community of Puxico. Upon his arrival to the Nashville community he soon became an active touring musician, backing artists such as “The Imperials” and Amy Grant. His touring career soon evolved into a recording career as a studio guitarist/ producer/ songwriter. Tom’s recording credits include artists: Michael English, Kenny Loggins, former Doobie Brother – Michael McDonald, Amy Grant, Donna Summer, Vince Gill, Peter Cetera, Barry Manilow, Faith Hill, Wynonna Judd, Brian McKinight, Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20, Steve Winwood, Glenn Shorrock (Little River Band), Michael W. Smith, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Glen Campbell, John Secada, . Englebert Humperdinck, Lee Greenwood, Charlie Daniels, Stephanie Mills, Yolanda Adams, Mindy McCready, Andy Williams, B J Thomas, Collin Raye, Bob Carlisle, Ricky Scaggs, Carman, Bill Gaither, Point Of Grace, 4 Him, The Imperials, Garth Brooks, Paul Overstreet, Twila Paris, Steven Curtis Chapman and many, many more. Awards include: A Grammy for producing CCM artist Bruce Carroll - 4 Dove Awards, the latest Dove Award was for his solo acoustic project in 2004 which won “Instrumental Album Of The Year” Tom’s live performances include backing artists such as: Michael McDonald, Chaka Kahn, BeBe Winans – musical director, Marc Cohen, James Ingram, Edwin McCain, Yolanda Adams, CeCe Winans, Fred Hammond, Niki Costa, Keb Mo, The “Simply Christmas” tour as principal guitarist with Amy Grant - Vince Gill, The Judds, Deana Carter, Jo Dee Messina, Barry Manilow, Trisha Yearwood, Jackie Velasquez, Martina McBride, Lynn Anderson, Tanya Tucker, Montgomery Gentry, George Strait, Kenny Rogers, and many more. Tom’s other production credits include the multi artist soundtrack of Mel Gibson's "The Passion Of The Christ", 2 albums for Gospel/R&B singer “BeBe Winans”, Grammy nominated “My Christmas Prayer” and Dove Award nominated “Dream”. Tom also produced the latest solo project for singer/songwriter “Cheri Keaggy” which features a duet with “Marty Row” of “Diamond Rio” on a cover of Carol King's “You Got A Friend”. Tom’s second solo instrumental project “Chasing The wind” is available for purchase!
